Hope House's volunteer program allows for a flexible and fulfilling experience. Whether you are interested in working directly with individuals here at the shelter or creating a fundraising event outside our facility, we welcome your desire to contribute to Hope House's mission.

Current Volunteer Opportunities
Donation Organizer
Location: On-site at Hope House of South Central Wisconsin
Description: Do you love organizing and want to make a real difference in your community? We’re looking for volunteers to help process and organize donations that directly support survivors and families at Hope House. This is a great opportunity for families, couples, or teens looking to volunteer together!
Responsibilities include:
Donation Pick-Up Driver
Schedule: Mondays & Thursdays (Reedsburg → Hope House)
Overview: Pick up donated food items from two partner stores in Reedsburg every Monday and Thursday, then deliver them directly to Hope House. This role helps keep our pantry stocked and meals on track for families we serve.

Outreach Booth and Event Volunteer
Overview: Outreach volunteers represent Hope House at community events, fairs, and awareness campaigns. By staffing our booths and helping at events, you play a key role in raising awareness about domestic and sexual violence, sharing resources, and connecting community members with our services.

- Sorting and organizing clothing, shoes, coats, and accessories by size and category
- Organizing donated toiletries, baby supplies, toys, and school supplies
- Helping ensure items are stored neatly and ready for distribution to clients
- Individuals or families who enjoy organizing
- Teens needing service hours
- Couples or small groups looking for a meaningful way to give back together

What you’ll do-
- Arrive at each store, check in with staff, and load pre-set donations.
- Ensure items are handled carefully (FIFO when possible) and transported safely.
- Deliver to Hope House, unload, and place donations in the designated intake area.
- Note any unusual quantities/concerns and report to staff.
You’re a great fit if you-
- Have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Can lift and carry 25–40 lbs with proper technique.
- Are dependable, punctual, and friendly with store partners and staff.
- Training and contact info for store partners.
- Donation logs and simple intake steps.
- Thanks, support—and mileage reimbursement if applicable.

- Answer general questions and direct people to staff for more detailed inquiries.
- Help create a welcoming and approachable presence at community events.
You’re a great fit if you-
- Enjoy talking with people and engaging with the community.
- Are comfortable sharing information in a friendly, approachable way.
- Can represent Hope House in a positive, professional manner.
- Are dependable, flexible, and willing to work as part of a team.
