![]() The Vilas County Sheriff suspects a murder-suicide in the death of 78 year-old Richard Thruman and 75 year-old Sandra Thruman in Presque Isle. PRESQUE ISLE - Sandra Lyn Thruman, age 75, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at home. She was born on Sept. 9, 1938, in Freeport, Ill., the daughter of Raymond and Berniece LeBaron. Sandra was married to Richard Thruman on Feb. 11, 1953, in Freeport, by Sandra's grandfather, Roscoe LeBaron. She enjoyed going to the Padre Islands and she wintered in Mission, Texas, for over 10 years. Sandra lived on Lake Kegonsa for over 20 years and moved to Presque Isle in 1991. She loved the outdoors and was a nature lover, loving critters and bird watching. She loved getting in the paddle boat on Presque Isle Lake and tooling around the shoreline for special treasures for her beautiful, magnificent yard she adorned with her finds. Sandra's findings included unique pieces of driftwood and special shaped rocks, which included a heart shaped rock. She absolutely loved the water. Sandra also loved flowers, fishing, and hunting. She enjoyed nature's treasures and antiquing with her daughter. Sandra loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and loved country music and dancing. Sandra is survived by her children, Rae Ann Bender of Stoughton, Rick (Nancy) Thruman of Stoughton, Rich (Becky) Thruman Jr. of Baraboo, and Barry Thruman of Stoughton; brother, Keith (JoAnn) LeBaron; sister, Sue (Dick) Schwartz of Freeport; nephew, the Rev. Brian Lebaron; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny; grandchild, Krista; great-grandchildren, Cassie and Nolan; and brother, Ronnie.
